Dua for Entering the Home
بِسْمِ اللَّهِ وَلَجْنَا، وَبِسْمِ اللَّهِ خَرَجْنَا، وَعَلَى رَبِّنَا تَوَكَّلْنَا
Bismillāhi walajnā, wa bismillāhi kharajnā, wa ʿalā Rabbinā tawakkalnā
“In the name of Allah we enter, in the name of Allah we leave, and upon our Lord we place our trust.”
Why This Dua
Naming Allah upon entry closes the door to Shaytan sharing your home and your evening meal (Muslim 2018), and the Qur'an instructs greeting the household with salam as you cross the threshold (24:61) — this one line carries both.
